Jean-François Gravelet
Jean-François Gravelet, the Frenchman who crossed Niagara Falls on a tightrope many times in the mid-19th century, also crossed the Edgbaston Reservoir in Birmingham, England. The reservoir, which is located in Rotten Park, was formerly a small fish stock pool called Roach Pool, and is fed by Titford Reservoir upstream.
This is, of course, just down the road from Fartinghamshire.

Nice try, Shira, but you can't really be 'down the road' from the whole of Fartinghamshire. Or rather you can, but in any particular direction, so the grammatical construction 'down the road' would then become nonsensical.
However, I can also attest that Fartinghamshire is nowhere near the old Roach Pool (variant Roache Pool)--in fact located in Tumberton-on-the-Wold in Bummingtonshire. (Too bad that isn't considered rude in American.)
